I’m thrilled to share a recipe with you today, along with details about an event I’ve been organizing. Let’s start with the event: I’ve brought together a group of food bloggers to share Valentine’s Day-inspired recipes to help raise funds for Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, a nonprofit dedicated to fighting pediatric cancer.
In past years, I organized a food blogger cookie swap, but even though we decided to discontinue that event, my commitment to supporting Cookies for Kids’ Cancer remains strong. I wanted to rally my fellow food bloggers to raise awareness about the incredible work this organization does for pediatric cancer research.
We are hosting this event to make a meaningful impact in the fight against pediatric cancer. Did you know that cancer is the leading cause of disease-related death among children in the U.S.? Currently, 40,000 children in the U.S. are battling cancer, and with less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s budget allocated to all childhood cancers combined, it’s crucial for us to get involved.
You can help make a difference by donating to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. Our goal is to raise at least $3,000, and three generous companies—Dixie Crystals, Land O’Lakes, and Mediavine—have pledged to match our donations up to $3,000! So far, we’ve raised $1,515, which means we’re over halfway to our goal. Will you help us reach it with a donation today? Every contribution counts! (Click the Donate Now button to visit our fundraising page and contribute.)
We have until February 28th to reach our $3,000 target, so please donate soon!
Now, let’s get to the recipe. I love starting with a box mix and adding my own twists to make it even better. Recently, I found a heart-shaped Bundt cake pan in the store and just had to buy it!
Make sure to spray the pan generously with baking spray, covering every nook and cranny. Smooth the top of the batter with a spatula, and bake it in the oven for 33 to 35 minutes at 350 degrees F.
While the cake bakes, you can prepare my favorite cream cheese frosting recipe using Dixie Crystals powdered sugar and Land O’Lakes unsalted butter. Sift the powdered sugar, then mix it into the cream cheese and butter in batches. I used a piping bag with a coupler (without a tip) to frost the cake.
Let me share a piece of my heart with you! 😊 This cake is simple to make and delicious! Remember to tell your loved ones that you care every day, and if you’re inspired, please consider making a donation today!
