Just a quick reminder: I’d love to hear from you! The first annual reader survey is live, and it only takes a few minutes to complete… Thank you so much in advance!
A couple of months ago, I had the amazing opportunity to visit Switzerland for the first time. I was invited on a press trip to Zurich by the wonderful folks at Visit Zurich. Initially, I had the common perception of Zurich being purely a business destination, but it’s so much more than that! There are plenty of activities, delicious food, and of course, incredible chocolate!
(View from the rooftop of our hotel, the Hotel Ambassador à l’Opéra). Spending time with such lovely people truly enhances any trip. Honestly, the people can make or break an experience. Be sure to explore these talented ladies’ blogs—Rachelle, Eden, Meg, Aida—and of course, that’s me in blue, blending with the water. 🙂
We had so much fun trying to capture a group shot on the rooftop! We even got a great photo with the Swiss flag.
We strolled throughout the city—I’ve always mentioned my love for walkable towns. Using my Fitbit, I enjoy tracking my steps and find that walking a few miles daily makes me feel great. During one day in Zurich, we walked nearly seven miles, which was fantastic!
The shopping was delightful! I visited the cutest office supply and paper store and even went clothes shopping. I found a lovely top at Naf Naf.
Lunch was at the stunning Restaurant Razzia. The weather was slightly warm, so the light pizza was just perfect!
We also stopped by Hiltl, the world’s oldest vegetarian restaurant, which includes a vegetarian butcher shop! If you’re a vegetarian, you’d adore this place, and even if you’re not, you’ll still enjoy it!
The vegetarian beef (meatless) tartar was a treat, and this restaurant’s ambiance was beautiful.
Our meal at Quai 61 offered a gorgeous view of Lake Zurich. We savored the desserts and appetizers, and I dare say that the pistachio crème brûlée crosses my mind often!
The lake views were stunning, and the chocolate was equally impressive. I brought home plenty as gifts for friends. 😀
Don’t forget to check out the recipes inspired by my trip: Cucumber Gin & Tonics and Garlic & Thyme Fried Chicken Fingers!
